Après un premier quartet autour de la musique de Miles Davis, qui donnera naissance à un disque très bien critiqué, et la co-organisation des D’Addario Jazz Session depuis maintenant six ans, François Bernat développe ce nouveau projet : Un quartet sans instrument harmonique, avec Frédéric Borey au saxophone, Michaël Joussein au trombone, et Stéphane Adsuar à la batterie, dont le répertoire est exclusivement composé de compositions personnelles et de compositions de Frédéric Borey. Une formation qui laisse la possibilité de créer des espaces musicaux ouverts, qui parfois cèdent à des improvisations collectives plus intenses, et une écriture mélodique à deux voix, enrichissante en terme de composition.
